About this journal.

I am Alice Pyae Thet Win, an engineering leader who has spent the better part of a decade between security teams, infrastructure teams, and, lately, the strange new territory of applied machine learning.

This site is where I think out loud. I write about the systems I build, the threats I watch for, and the way the internet actually moves data from one place to another — because the closer you look, the more interesting it gets.

I also write, less often but more honestly, about being a mother in this industry. About what it costs and what it gives back. About the assumptions I had to unlearn.
